In today’s post, I’ll briefly mention 3-productivity methods

1- Morning rituals

Mornings can be a challenge for some people. For many, it can take a long time for them to get ready and have breakfast before heading off to work. Developing a morning ritual can be helpful.

Morning rituals are a set of activities which you do consistently for the first 30-60 minutes after you wake up. You can start a morning ritual by practicing the same activities daily, which make mornings run in a smoother manner.

Ideally, it is recommended for us to wake up at the same time everyday. Although this may not always be possible (as some may have night shifts or activities/events that keep them up late), it is good to practice it when possible.

2- Working in cycles

Working in cycles is key to managing energy levels. The human body is designed to work in cycles of rest and recovery.

When work is viewed as a series of sprints rather than a marathon, it can give a better picture and result in individuals feeling energised.

Working in block of time and ensuring there are blocks or rest in between is more likely to have positive results that having prolonged periods of work without rest.

3- Recharging motivation

Ensuring to stay motivated is key and is one of the most important forms of energy.

If individuals feel they lack energy and no longer have the motivation or drive they once had, then taking a step back to re-evaluate is a good idea.

Re-evaluate what you’re going through, check if you are de-motivated because of lack of rest or support and address your needs. Review your goals. If this review shows you that your goals no longer motivate you, they perhaps you have chosen the wrong goals.

If you are a medical student or a healthcare professional and find yourself thinking that you’re fatigued and losing interest in medicine, try to remind yourself how it felt when you first got accepted into medicine. That, in most cases, ends up re-charging motivation.
